The men in our lives deserve to be pampered. However, sometimes, it’s hard to come up with creative gift ideas. How many ties, coffee cups, and other such items does one man need?!

This year, I decided to create a unique way to gift one of my favorite men with his favorite treats. After a bountiful shopping trip at Walmart, I dreamed up a way to present these items in a new way.
The idea that finally hit me was to use empty paint cans! Did you know that you can visit your local home improvement store and purchase brand new empty paint cans? (if your local store does not carry these, they can be ordered online too) I bought two- one-gallon size and one quart-sized- and got to work!
We give you THE MAN CAN!
My partner in crime- or blogging- is my daughter Natalie. She’s the creative genius in this duo, responsible for all of the photos and graphics that bring my words to life. Our idea was first to create a label to attach to the cans. She created those labels for you and you can download them and print them with the links here- gallon sized or quart sized.

BUT! We wanted to take it a step further. Once the goodies are gone, our guy may want to use his cans for other uses. To make this possible, we painted the cans with chalkboard paint. Natalie then got back to work and created stencils to print and cut out. She used them, along with chalk pens to write on the cans.
Download those stencils here- gallon-sized or quart-sized.

Once you have decorated the cans, it’s a matter of filling them. For our guy, who shall remain nameless since it’s a gift for Christmas, we chose a bunch of snacks.
A package of 26 Slim Jims was the first purchase, of course. Slim Jims are one of his (and others in our family, so he may need to share his gift!) To round out the Man Can, we added other treats such as Fiddle Faddle, Snack Pack pudding, H.K. Anderson pretzels, Crunch & Munch, David sunflower seeds, Swiss Miss hot cocoa, and Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn. All of these snack foods are in the gallon-sized can.

Into the quart sized can, I decided to use our favorite sausage, Tennessee Pride (we are Tennesseans, after all!) to make Low Carb Sausage Balls. Along with this, I included a bottle of Gulden’s Mustard for dipping. The sausage balls will be added just before gift-giving time.

I hope these gift ideas for the men in your life are helpful! Please share in the comments what YOU would add to these cans!
