I’ve been cooking for a long time and find that some nights, I just need some new recipe inspiration. You know, something new that tastes great, but is also going to be simple to put together.
As part of our homemaking, I teach our children how to cook. I want them to be able to feed themselves and their future families well. It also helps when they cook a meal for me! Our youngest child, Mary is a vegetarian. Since she eats a bit differently than the rest of us do, I’m ramping up her kitchen time. I want her to be able to make quality dishes that meet her dietary needs.
Pasta Matchmaker for Recipe Inspiration
We’ve been using the Pasta Matchmaker Quiz to expand our recipe repertoire. Through a series of prompts, Mueller’s® quiz will share a new recipe for you to try!
Each of the recipes that we have chosen have been simple, creative, and tasty.
I find that Mary takes the quiz at least once per week. She’s been a vegetarian for two months, so new recipe inspiration is important for her.
Our other three children also use the Pasta Matchmaker Quiz to generate recipes to try. All three are on the cusp of moving out on their own. It’s important to me that they know how to eat well and not rely on convenience foods. The recipes that we’ve tried are all simple to prepare. This makes me feel much more confident in this aspect of their moving out. Now, other aspects, not so much, but that’s a post for another day. 😉
I’d like to share with you the simple recipe that Mary made the other night.
Here are the simple steps to finding new recipe inspiration! There are so many recipes suggested with all of the choices you can enter! Just a click on each page and you’ve found a new recipe to make!
That’s it! The next screen you’ll see will share a new recipe!
After clicking the boxes on the Pasta Matchmaker Quiz, the resulting suggested recipe was Easy Minestrone Soup. We were able to quickly print the recipe from the Mueller’s® site. This sure makes it quick and simple to try a new recipe!
This sounded yummy, so off to Kroger we went to get the needed supplies.
It was a quick shopping trip for this recipe did not have a ton of ingredients. I appreciate that most of the recipes call for minimal ingredients, many of which we keep on hand. This will also make grocery shopping and cooking easier on my soon-to-move-out children. We made a simple swap to elbow noodles since it’s one of our favorites.
Once we got home, Mary started prepping the ingredients.
She had to peel and chop carrots and onions.
Then she learned how to cut kale off of the stem, then chop up. The recipe called for frozen kale, but we wanted to swap it out for fresh.
Once the vegetables were chopped and cans of tomato products & beans were opened, it was time to get started on her masterpiece.
To begin, she added oil to the pot, added the vegetables, and let them saute. We talked about how to tell when the vegetables were soft and ready to move on to the next step.
Next up was to add the tomato products. This led to a short discussion about not making a huge mess on the stove when adding tomato products to hot pots.
To finish the soup, the pasta and kale were added. Simmer for 15 minutes or so, and it was time to eat!
I appreciate quick dishes for Mary to make. This makes cooking a lot less daunting than when I first started cooking. The process seemed overwhelming to me back then. I’m glad that these dishes are easy to create, giving her a win every time.
Of course, my girlie is never far from a book. So, off she went with a piping hot bowl of her newly-created soup and her favorite book! A quick lunch, created by her, and enjoyed.
Head on over to try the Mueller’s® Pasta Matchmaker Quiz. I have to say, there are several recipes given that I placed on our menu this month. It’s nice to have fresh inspiration!
The recipes given are great for a last-minute weeknight supper, company, or even a date night. There is a wide range of recipes! Mueller’s® is my go-to pasta, what an extra bonus to be able to find new recipes based upon my mood, event, time available, and protein to be used. It’s a fun quiz that takes seconds to complete, but offers a plethora of suggestions!
