Are you anything like me? Did you have big plans of being organized and on top of things as we started this new year? Were some of your resolutions to use a planner, keep better records, get more sleep, be more organized, read more? All of those items were on my list for 2016.
Sadly, I fell back into the same old routine and didn’t make many of the changes that I desired. I have been reading more. And getting to bed earlier, resulting in more sleep. But, the better records, utilizing a planner, and being more organized? Nope.
I saw a meme on Facebook the other day that stated “I’ve decided that my 2016 starts again on February 1st, this was a trial month.” What do you think? Shall we call a do-over?!
Our third daughter started her first job this month. That has meant my driving her to work most days during the week. We live 30 minutes from town. This means that I am gone for at least an hour each day. Of course, it also means getting “town ready” each day, rather than quickly drying my hair, no makeup, and comfy “at home” clothes. We are super proud of Natalie’s work ethic and encourage her with her job. It’s a sacrifice we willingly make as she becomes an adult. It just means that a schedule and STICKING TO IT has become all the more important for me.
New Year: Take 2
What are some goals that you have for this year? How are you doing at reaching for them?
As a woman, I have a goal of working harder towards my wellness goals, which includes regular workouts, getting enough sleep, and reading daily.
As a wife, I have goals of having more date nights with my beloved, as well as doing a Bible study together.
As a Mama, I have a goal of spending more time one-on-one with each of my children.
As a homemaker, I have goals of having a menu plan, get back to monthly grocery shopping, and making bread again.
As a blogger, I have goals to be more consistent in posting as well as sending weekly newsletters.
As a Plexus ambassador, I have goals of helping more folks gain wellness and growing my business.
As you can see, I have a lot of goals, with many different directions. The only way I’m going to be able to accomplish any of them is through planning and following through with those plans.
I have plenty of “get organized” products. For my businesses, I have the iBloom planner that I love. It’s more than a planner, it’s a business coach in a spiral book. For my blog, I have the Inspired Blogger Network Blog Success Planner. It’s all printed and bound . . . now to use it! For my life, I recently purchased an Inkwell Press Planner that I’ve heard so many rave about. I don’t lack for planners!
But, what holds me back from making the necessary changes? Is it truly more comfortable to just stay the same? I sure hope not. Staying the same has its own discomforts that, quite frankly, I’m tired of experiencing. It’s beyond time to break out of the norm, grab the goals by the hand, and get to work.
Natalie has created some cute printables to make keeping my resolutions a bit more fun. We thought we’d share them with you too! Simply enter your e-mail address below and the free printables will be e-mailed to you!
