Who needs popcorn when you have these low carb foods to enjoy on your movie night?!
Earlier this month, we received our tax refund. While the big bills were taken care of first, we also set aside some funds for our family memory splurges.
We are going to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens in two weeks when two of the employed folks here are on vacation. We’re all looking forward to that trip! Thomas is enjoying the extras for his truck. The shopping trip for Natalie’s home goods is coming soon. And Mary is sure enjoying her new cell phone!
I must admit, the Samsung Galaxy On5 was a great purchase at only $69 (Walmart rollback price!) I’ve certainly paid more for a cell phone and not been as happy with it as she is with this one. It meets all of her needs and then some.
Getting started with Walmart Family Mobile was so simple. We picked out our phone, added a SIM kit for only $19.88, and completed our purchase. Set up was quick and simple. With the larger data bucket of 10GB of 4G LTE data, Mary can keep in touch with us while still enjoying things like extra apps and such.

One extra perk that we are enjoying from our new cell phone plan is the VUDU movie credit. This is included in the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS Plan, which includes Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G plus a free VUDU movie credit every month ($7 value, which is the same as a new release cost) per line for only $49.88. The $7 credit can be applied to any VUDU movie(s) of your choosing.
An easy way to choose movies to watch on VUDU is to add them to your wishlist as you think of them. This is convenient with the VUDU app on the Samsung Galaxy On5. The phone is conveniently with you so adding them to your wishlist is a breeze. Later, when you sit down to watch movies, your wishlist will be full of those suggestions you saved.
We typically have a pizza and movie night once per week. Sometimes, though, we like to mix it up and go all out. Since we are eating a low carb diet (well, some of us are), last week, we did a full low carb foods spread instead of our usual pizza and meatzzas. I made it even more fun by purchasing some fun opening night decorations.
For this low carb foods movie night, I served Italian meatballs, Swedish meatballs, low carb chicken tenders, mini burgers, cole slaw, and cheesy chicken dip. Everyone loaded up their plate, then settled in to watch our movie on VUDU via the PlayStation. What a perfect movie night!
{I’ll be sharing the recipes for our low carb foods in future posts, so if you’re following a low carb diet, be sure to stop back to grab those easy recipes!}
Mary helped me make the mini burgers, so of course, she had to Instagram a photo!
This cheesy chicken dip is SO yummy! I pair it with pork rinds to keep it low carb. My carb eaters like to eat it on tortillas. Either way, it’s filling and tasty!
It’s fun to see which movies Mary places on the wishlist on her phone. We’ve already started brainstorming movie themed foods for another fun movie night. This VUDU service is great! What a fun perk added to the Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan!
What do you serve for movie nights? I’d love some more suggestions!
