My husband and I recognize how beneficial spending time alone as a couple is to our marriage. We haven’t always been able to take trips alone, but our children are getting older, thus making these trips possible. We try to go away alone for a two-night overnight stay. This time away is very special to us, and we look forward to every trip we’re able to take.
I began searching for a cabin get-away spot for us within 2 hours of our home in middle Tennessee. I knew we’d found just the spot for us when I found Rockhaven Cabins in Mt Juliet, TN.
Homemaker’s Review- Rockhaven Cabins, TN:
Here are the three beautiful cabins available to rent at Rockhaven. We stayed in the Magnolia this time. We’d love to return and stay in Uncle Pete’s cabin in the future.

Uncle Pete’s Cabin

Magnolia Cabin

Calico Cabin
When I saw this outside of our cabin, I knew this was a place that paid attention to the details. Isn’t this adorable??!
Walking into our cabin, we knew that we were truly in a home away from home. The attention to detail was quite evident. Very neat and tidy, with instructions left where needed. Bring along some DVDs if you’d like to be entertained in the evening. There are some available for use, if you happen to forget!
As a foodie, I went to the kitchen first. Literally, any kitchen item I desired was present. The usual cups, plates, silverware, and such were there. But, also popcorn, spices, cake pans, lighter, corkscrew, ice, coffee, blender, and other items that I wasn’t expecting were there!
While the Magnolia is a one-room cabin, with a separate bathroom, it does not feel small at all. There is plenty of space to relax, eat, sleep, and lounge.
This bed was the most luxuriously comfortable place we have slept ever away from home! Seriously, I didn’t want to get out of bed that first morning!
This two-person tub was wonderful for relaxing! We’ve stayed in several places that have had large tubs. This was, by far, the easiest one to get in and out of. The gorgeous chandelier hanging above the tub gave such an elegant feel to soaking time!
The bathroom is a separate room. Included here are, again, everything you need. There were two hair dryers, curling iron/brush, makeup mirror, even makeup remover towelettes! The towels were thick and plush. Everything is very luxurious!
Sitting out onto the front porch in the morning with a cup of coffee was a great way to begin the day. It’s very quiet and serene, a wonderful place to read, chat, or eat. We had the pleasure of meeting Rhonda Powell, co-owner with her husband, Nate, on this porch. Rhonda has quite a fun and interesting life story, filled with tales of working in the music industry in Nashville for years. In 1995, she and Nate moved to his family’s 75-acre property and built the Magnolia cabin. Next to be added was Uncle Pete’s cabin. This is a neat story – it really was Uncle Pete’s cabin! They moved and restored this Civil War era cabin. A third cabin, the Calico was added most recently.
Rhonda is a kitchen and bath designer. She has designed the cabins and super handy Nate has built them. Rhonda also has quite a flair for decorating. Every nook and cranny in the cabin has little homey touches. You truly feel like you’re visiting her home. We also met Nate before leaving from our stay. He’s a gentle man, with a southern drawl and obvious love for his wife and this property. It is obvious that Rockhaven Cabins is a labor of love for both Nate and Rhonda. Both of these precious people will welcome you with true Southern hospitality!
There are horses in the pasture next to this quiet sitting spot. A very relaxing way to spend some time!
Goodbye, Rockhaven Cabins, we’ll be back!
While Rockhaven Cabins is set on this beautiful, out of the way location, you are not far from “civilization.” Shopping and dining options are about 5 minutes down the road in the Providence Marketplace. Here you can dine at any of several popular restaurants, if you’d rather not cook. Or, do a little shopping in the many shops. For convenience sake, all of downtown Nashville is a 30-minute drive away. If you’re visiting middle Tennessee to take in a show at the Grand Ole Opry, riding on the General Jackson showboat, touring the Country Music Hall of Fame, or any other Nashville area attraction, a stay at the Rockhaven Cabins will be a welcome respite on a serene, peaceful property.
Check out the info at Rockhaven Cabins online. Give Rhonda a call at 615-449-5227. You can connect with Rockhaven Cabins on Facebook as well.
