One of my favorite treats, when the weather turns cold is Hot Chocolate!
When I think of hot chocolate it warms me. I instantly think of cuddling up under a cute wintry throw blanket. I have the sweet feeling of snuggling my babes. I have memories of good Christmas movies.
Nanna’s Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
- 8 quart powdered milk
- 1 lb box of chocolate drink mix
- 6 oz non-dairy creamer
- 1 c powdered sugar (optional)
{as you can see, I use off-brands of all ingredients but you may of course use top-brand}
Mix all ingredients. You’re gonna want to use a giant bowl! The largest one I had still proved to be too small when trying to blend this massive amount of ingredients. If you want to avoid a big mess and think your bowl might not be large enough, you could always make 1/2 a batch at a time.
After blended it looks just like store-bought cocoa mix.

Can’t wait to try it! I forget how simple hot cocoa really is when it comes to building memories. I have so many memories involving a great cup of hot chocolate. I think today may be one of those good memory making days.
I agree about hot cocoa being an amazing memory builder! How did you’re turn out? Any great memories you’d like to share?
I love to blend mine in the blender… or food processor. It blends it perfectly! I am going to try this one too. There is one from Family Fun I have also used.
I’ll have to try the Family Fun one! And using the blender is genius! I’ve always thought the chunkiness was odd but it smooths out in the hot water or milk but I think the blending would help make sure it’s equally mixed. Thanks for sharing!!!
