Craft projects, food, saving money, saving time, and entertaining are five of my favorite things. For this game day spread, I combined all five!

If it’s your turn to host the game day party or you just want to put out a yummy spread for supper, here are some great tips!
Game Day Spread In A Jiffy Foods:
You’ll find the Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips (3.5 lbs) and State Fair® Mini Corn Dogs (65 count) that I’ve used for our Game Day Spread in the frozen food section. We like these chicken strips because they are all white meat and fully cooked and fully crispy, just heat and eat. And the mini corn dogs, I mean, who doesn’t like all things mini?! To serve the chicken strips, I cut them into smaller pieces, just to match the mini corn dogs.
Since the crispy chicken tenders and mini corn dogs were the stars of the meal show, I wanted to give some options for dipping sauces. I challenged myself to come up with some new sauces and was pleased with the results!
Here are the sauces: Honey Mustard, Dill Pickle, Garlic Parmesan Butter, Sweet Chili, and Fry Sauce. I added a container filled with ketchup for the guests who prefer it with their corn dogs. You’ll find the printable recipes at the end of this post.
Game Day Spread In A Jiffy Decorations:
I got crafty for this spread and want to show you how simple these decorations are to make!
I used a t-shirt cookie cutter to trace onto construction paper of different colors. Cardstock would have been more durable, but this is what I had on hand. Remember, this is a low-cost decoration, so I didn’t go out and buy a huge pack of cardstock for this craft. As a homeschooler, we have no shortage of construction paper on hand. 😉
For the footballs, I used a foam football that I had from another party. Technically, I could have just punched holes in the foam footballs, but I was on a tracing roll and kept going.

Cut the jerseys (t-shirts) and footballs out, then use a single hole punch to punch two holes near the tops for threading the string.

Carefully thread the string through the holes. Since this is construction paper, it will tear, so take your time in doing this job.
Note- I colored the edges of the jersey sleeves with markers. I did not have a white marker, so the football is colored with white-out. Use what you have and be creative!

The next decoration I came up with is a football field riser. We always have plenty of boxes on hand (gotta love online shopping!), so I found two of the same size to use. I could not find plain green wrapping paper, so I instead used emerald green tissue paper to wrap the boxes. This was a little more time-consuming since the wrapping paper was not large enough to wrap the entire box. I knew the boxes would only be used for this table decor, so I did not worry about wrapping the entire box.
Once the boxes were wrapped, I measured the length and divided it evenly. This box is 16″ long, so I divided it into 3 even 4″ section, then marked the middle of that section.
Using white washi tape (I also could not find thin white tape, so I used what I had), line the tape up so that the center mark is in the center of the tape. Pull tight to wrap the tape around the front edge of the box. Again, I did not worry about covering the top of the box because I was going to show only the front side. You could do the same thing, but carry the tape and numbers to the top of the box if it suits your desired display.
Add the field goal numbers accordingly. Since the 50-yard line is the center of a football field, the numbers emanate out from the center. Thus from the left, the numbers run from 10-50, from the right, the numbers run from 50-10. I hope that makes sense!
One display item that I did splurge a bit on was the chalkboard. I found it for just under $10 at a hardware store. I will use it for more parties and other activities, so it will be money well spent. (or we can turn it into another office addition!)
Recalling my brother’s years as a football player, a chalkboard was the coach’s way of showing the players each play they’d be running. This chalkboard is a nod to that tradition.
Putting this party food display together was great fun! I hope that I’ve inspired you to get a bit crafty and creative for your next game day party with this game day spread in a jiffy!
