As a new iPhone owner, I’m in awe of all that it will do. You name it- take notes, check e-mail, visit Facebook, hey, it even makes phone calls! One area that I am brand new to is that of apps. My children are helping wade through this part of iPhone ownership.
Recently, I was asked to review an app called One Day. Since I am trying to learn all I can about apps, I jumped at the chance. When I grabbed the app, I quickly browsed through it, then moved on. It was neat, but I didn’t give it much thought.
That is, until my folks arrived for their Christmas visit. I overheard them talking with my children about their greatest Christmas memories. Then we started talking about the foods we each wanted for our Christmas Eve meal. And it hit me!
The One Day app! I could use this app to make a quick movie, including these memories, thoughts, and food desires. It’s super simple to use. I mean, it was harder to gather them together and convince them to let me video them than it took to record the movie. I tell you, if I can use this app, anyone can! The One Day app is FREE too! Woot!
There are many prompts included in the One Day app. We chose Christmas Favorites. You could choose so many more options related to Christmas. It was neat to ask my daughter her favorite part of the Christmas meal and then my Mom, and hear similar answers. I can see lots of potential with this app to bridge the “generation gap.” Especially since my folks live in NY and we live in TN, together time doesn’t happen near enough. By using these prompts within the app, they can be more connected, and see where they are alike, and even where they are not.
My daughter is part of the electronic age, and my folks are not. Using this app, they connect in a new way. And, have a record to show. How I know I will treasure these movies as my children get older, and as my folks do as well. What memories will be stored in this handy dandy iPhone for years to come!
One of the ones I’m looking forward to using is the 2014 Year End Review. Won’t it be fun to look back a year from now and see what we were thinking about, what was important, what we dreamed of? How about 5 years from now?
The greatest thing about this app is how easily it turns your raw footage into a real movie, with graphics and music. I am a lot of things, but video editor isn’t one of them! Using this simple FREE app, I can create videos and memories to share with others, and to treasure myself.
A group of us bloggers are participating in a giveaway of $150 cash! Who couldn’t use $150, especially this time of the year! Be sure to enter to win below!
