Hosting parties is one of my favorite things to do. The easiest parties are those with a theme.
What better theme than Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July? Pull out the red, white, and blue and get ready! With these 3 simple patriotic snacks, you’ll be ready to party in no time!

Summertime parties can be very last minute. Having some snacks that are quick to put together sure makes impromptu entertaining a breeze!
3 Simple Patriotic Snacks
These three recipes are simple to make, require little time, and only a few ingredients each. You’ll be party-ready in no time!
1. Flag Party Dip:

This party dip is a show-stopper. It’s super cute, but also super yummy! I serve it with a variety of crackers and chips.
My favorite crackers to serve with this are the Dare Cabaret Crackers. They are sturdy enough to scoop the dip and not break before you take a bite and provide a great crunch!
Or you can serve it on a bed of lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. Either way, it’s tasty!
I like to prepare this dip for any party. You can customize the topping to reflect the holiday. This one is decorated for the Fourth of July with a flag.

To make this Flag Party Dip, layer refried beans, taco meat, and shredded cheese in a casserole dish. Refrigerate until ready to bake & serve. When ready to serve, bake at 375* for 20 minutes or so. Remove from oven, let sit while you mix up the cream cheese & sour cream mixture.
To make the flag, use paste food coloring to tint a 1/4 cup or so of the mixture dark blue. Place the white mixture into a piping bag, fitted with a round tip, and the blue mixture in a piping bag fitted with a smaller open tip. Use salsa to make the red stripes.
To assemble, first pipe the upper left corner with the blue mixture. Carefully spread this to smooth it out with an offset spatula. To make stripes, use a spoon to place a line of salsa at the top of the casserole. Take care to make a straight line.
Next, pipe and equal line of the white sour cream mixture. Smooth with an offset spatula. Repeat lines until the casserole is covered. Change the tip on the white piping bag to a small star tip. Carefully pipe stars on the blue sour cream mixture. Enjoy!
Patriotic Snack Mix:

This is a super simple snack! I popped about 1 cup of popcorn kernels in the air popper. Don’t add any butter or salt to it. Mix the popcorn with pretzel sticks, broken up crackers, dried sweet cherries, dried blueberries, licorice bites, and mini marshmallows.

Melt red, white, and blue colored chocolate, add a bit of coconut oil to thin it a bit. Mix it well, and be sure it is at a pourable consistency.

Spread the snack mixture onto 3 parchment paper-lined sheets. Pour one color chocolate over each one. Let dry completely.

Once dry, break the mix into small pieces. Mix all three sheets of chocolate-covered snack mix in a large bowl. Serve!
Uncle Sam’s Hats:

These are so fun to make!
To begin, coat crackers with melted white chocolate. Add red, white, and blue sprinkles before the chocolate sets up. All to dry thoroughly on parchment paper.

Next up, poke toothpicks into a box or piece of styrofoam, then add marshmallows to the toothpicks. Use short squirts of food-safe color mist to color the tops of the marshmallows blue. Let dry.

Melt red chocolate and then paint stripes with a clean small paint rush onto the marshmallows.

Using a bit of melted chocolate, attach the marshmallows to the chocolate covered cracker. Allow to dry. They are now ready to serve!
