Sure, you can just grab a yogurt container and enjoy it. But, how about elevating that yogurt into a yogurt parfait? Here’s a delicious treat for breakfast or dessert!
I remember it like it was yesterday. The year was 1975. A young girl of 6 saw her Pappy eating something new. He was always on a health kick and had discovered this new thing called yogurt. Thinking it looked good, I grabbed a spoon and dove in. And promptly jumped back out! Yuck!
Yogurt was not a health kick I wanted to join. That memory of my first yogurt attempt stuck with me.
Fast forward to 1995. I was pregnant with my second child. Thinking that I had a yeast infection, it was advised that I eat yogurt. Recalling my first yogurt experience, I was quite hesitant to do so. But, I wanted to be healthy and take care of my unborn child. I dutifully opened that yogurt package and took a small bite. And, the same feeling overcame me from so many years earlier. That feeling, coupled with morning sickness . . . equaled a not so pretty picture.
Until late last year, I had not given yogurt another chance. My children love the stuff. I have made the homemade version. I just hadn’t given it a try.
One of my daughters encouraged me while she was eating a new version of yogurt, the Greek version, and I took a tiny bite. And I liked it! Admittedly, it was a flavored yogurt. But, it didn’t have the “bite” that I had disliked so from the other two times I had tried it.

I have since found that I really enjoy yogurt. Who would have thought it possible? Certainly not my Pappy! I wish he were still here so that I could share a cup of Yoplait Greek 100 with him today!
While I love to cook and create in the kitchen, I am not the biggest fan of breakfast. We eat low-carb, so most breakfast foods (yummy waffles, pancakes, sausage gravy and biscuits) are off my eating plan. One can only consume so many eggs. I don’t want to skip breakfast, but needed some new inspiration. I am working hard this year to make positive changes, with eating breakfast being one of those changes.
Enter Yoplait Greek 100. Oh my, the flavors are SO tasty! Key Lime Pie, Banana Caramel, Black Cherry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Orange Crème, Coconut, Apple Pie, Mango, and so many more! They are yummy right out of the package, making a quick breakfast or snack.
But, I wanted something a bit more “decadent,” a bit more meal-like.
Here are the treats that my daughters and I came up with. All are 150 calories or under. The Yoplait Greek 100 yogurt packs 10-12 grams of protein, so it’s a great choice for breakfast or snacking!

1 cup Yoplait Greek 100 Mixed Berry yogurt

All three of these parfaits could also be transportable. Simply leave the whipped cream off, top with a mason jar lid, and off you go!

I usually buy plain Greek yogurt and add my own fruit and granola but my family does like the Yoplait Greek 100 cups for lunches or a quick snack. Your yogurt parfaits look great!

Your parfaits look delicious! I’m not much of a yogurt fan, either, but I could get into those. They look like dessert! 🙂
